No, we're not there yet, Nathan is only 3.5, but he has really taken an interest in "reading" lately.
First I read him a book, then he reads it back to me with surprising amounts of accuracy. I think he has inherited his mommy's memory!
Today after reading a story together Nathan asked me to teach him to read, and if you have a 3 year old you know that telling them they can't just isn't going to work. So we started to learn to read.
We started with playing some starfall
then moved on to tracing the letter A
Which reminded him of drawing other shapes
Which reminded him of Cedar Point and other sorts of architecture
Which finally lead to a drawing of Cedar Point
I love watching him move from one thought to the next and learning through play
